Thank you, and congratulations to all our award-winners this morning, and to the retiring faculty members we honor today. We are grateful for your achievements and service.

I think it’s time for someone to stand up and say: The residential college model – the campus setting – the sense of place that is created there – and the resulting community that grows from that place — this is one of the best ideas we’ve ever had. Let’s take care not to lose it.
Dear Clemson Faculty and Staff:
I write to update you on continuing efforts to improve compensation for Clemson faculty and staff.
This issue came up at virtually every department meeting held with our 3 Vice Presidents during a year-long process. After three years of no state raises and a one-time furlough, the message was clear: [...]
I enjoyed being outdoors with my class this week. You can tell it’s spring by the trees in bloom and the students sunbathing on Bowman Field. 
I strongly encourage you to join the Summer Reading Program as a facilitator. It’s a campus-wide community effort and an experience that Marcia and I always enjoy.
