One week ago Clemson University hosted the inaugural Men of Color National Summit in Greenville at the TD Convention Center; it’s mission — to close the achievement gap for men of color from the cradle to career. Attending the summit were approximately two thousand high school and college students who were educated and empowered by leaders such as Tavis Smiley, Desmond Howard, John Quiñones, David J. Johns, and several others.
Break-out sessions addressed topics such as restorative justice and problem-based learning, cultivating passion for success, mentorship, and breaking harmful stereotypes derived from media. It was a great honor for the College of Business to support and have representatives attend the Men of Color National Summit. Everyone who attended was educated, challenged, equipped and empowered.
