BMW has donated 36 autonomous ground vehicles (AGVs) valued at over $800K to CU-ICAR. The vehicles will be used for research on collaborative robotics in automotive manufacturing, with the goal of discovering ways to improve automotive assembly line efficiency and quality. Drs. Laine Mears and Yunyi Jia will be using some of the AGVs to build an automotive assembly line in the Center for Manufacturing Innovation, located on the CU-ICAR campus.
