Clemson astronomers continue to spread the word about upcoming solar eclipse

Amber Porter, a lecturer in the department of physics and astronomy, will give a presentation at 10:30 a.m. at the Happy Hearts Club of Seneca about “Eclipse Over Clemson,” the university’s upcoming viewing party for the Aug. 21 total solar eclipse. The club is for people 50 and older and meets every first Tuesday at the Shaver Center. … Porter and several Clemson graduate students will also discuss the eclipse and conduct hands-on demonstrations at National Night Out for crime prevention from 5-7 p.m. at Creekwood Apartment Villages, 201 West Lane, in Clemson. Wednesday event (Aug. 2)

Amber Porter, a lecturer in the department of physics and astronomy, will give a presentation at 7 p.m. at Clemson Downs about “Eclipse Over Clemson,” the university’s upcoming viewing party for the Aug. 21 total solar eclipse. Thursday event (Aug. 3)

Amber Porter, a lecturer in the department of physics and astronomy, will give a presentation at 11 a.m. to the Clemson Thinks2 cohort about “Eclipse Over Clemson,” the university’s upcoming viewing party for the Aug. 21 total solar eclipse. The presentation will be held on campus at the Watt Family Innovation Center in Room 106. Clemson Thinks2 is the university’s Quality Enhancement Plan, an ambitious experiment in critical thinking that will transform learning and teaching through Critical Thinking Seminars, a cohort of faculty scholars, faculty development, rigorous assessment, and scholarly research.
