Professor Emerita Participates in Three Day Breast Cancer Fundraiser

The Tumornators, led by team captain, Elaine Richardson, Professor Emerita of Animal and Veterinary Sciences  and Director, participated in the 2019 Pledge the Pink 3 day/10 miles a day walk for breast cancer.  During the event held October 25-28, they walked 10 miles each day on Hunting Island, Dataw Island, and Fripp Island.  The team raised $5425.28, and the 1500 walkers total raised over $420,000.  The funds will be used for breast cancer screening, treatment, and research.  Elaine also serves as the chair of the Pledge the Pink Foundation Board.
