Clemson Thinks2 Faculty Institute

By Bill Surver, Ph.D.
Alumni Distinguished Professor
Department of Biological Sciences

Now is your opportunity to become part of Clemson Thinks2 by participating in the second Clemson Thinks2 Faculty Institute. We are seeking faculty members who will develop a CT2 seminar. Seminars may be interdisciplinary or disciplinary-based courses. Modifications of existing courses as well as new courses may be proposed. Our goals are to develop a community of critical thinking scholars on campus, to provide our second-year students with a seminar that intentionally teaches critical thinking, and to measure their progress.  Institute participants will receive $2500 that may be used towards summer salary or deposited into a personal development account.

Clemson Thinks2 is the name given to Clemson’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) that is now a requirement for SACSCOC accreditation.  More details, including expected Institute outcomes, an application form as well as our entire QEP and a short video describing our goals may be found on our website at www.clemson.edu/thinks.

The dates for the Institute are June 16 and 17; 19 and 20 all day sessions and a half-day session on August 7.  An Institute agenda will soon be posted on our website.
