The Clemson athletic department is inviting all fans to a pair of free events this weekend, Rock the ‘John on Friday night and ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday morning.

For the second time this season, ESPN’s iconic college football pregame show, College GameDay, will be in Clemson. The show will run from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, and will will originate from the north end of Bowman Field and precede the Clemson vs. Florida State game at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Saturday’s show will be the second broadcast from Clemson this season and will be the first time GameDay originates from the same location twice in one season since 2007.  It will also mark the first time that GameDay is at the same site twice within the first eight weeks of a season.

On Friday, Clemson’s sixth annual Rock the ‘John – the introduction to the men’s and women’s basketball season – will take place at Littlejohn Coliseum.  Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the event gets underway at 8 p.m. Admission is free of charge.

Rock the ‘John will be emceed once again by JDew, the in-game host for Tiger men’s basketball games during the season.  The first 2,000 fans through the door will receive Rock the ‘John glow sticks, while all fans will receive schedule cards, posters and key tags.

Fans will not want to miss Friday’s edition, which will feature a “lights out” theme.  A fire juggling entertainment act will set the scene, followed by performances from the Clemson cheerleaders and Rally Cats.  Following several promotional opportunities, games and giveaways, the 2013-14 men’s and women’s teams will be introduced by class. Both teams will take part in brief scrimmages as well.
