Contribute your work to Science as Art

Pic of Science as Art entryScience as Art is a challenge to Clemson University students and faculty, and K-12 students across the state, to create and share visual art based on their work in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Visual representations of STEM provide a valuable connection between scientists, artists and the general public. Since its inception in 2006, Science as Art entries have shared powerful and inspiring visual art produced in our laboratories, workspaces and learning environments. Winning entries from previous years are on display around campus, on our website (www.scienceasart.org) and have been featured in the Clemson exhibit at Artisphere in Greenville since 2014.

Clemson students, faculty and staff are once again invited to submit original works to Science as Art 2017.  Entries can be produced by individuals or teams; multi-disciplinary collaboration is encouraged.  While images need not be research-based, they should convey a significant or captivating scientific concept or event. Formats for entries include photographs, illustrations, electronic media (interactive and non-interactive, including video), three-dimensional, and explanatory graphics.  Entries will be judged based on visual impact, effective communication, and innovation.

The deadline for submitting an entry to Science as Art 2017 is Monday, March 20.  The Science as Art exhibit will be held on Friday, April 7 in the Hendrix Center Atrium.
