Sarah Winslow and Jeff Brown were named Professor of the Game and Star Staffer of the Game respectively during the Sept. 17 SC State v. Clemson home football game.

“It was an honor to be recognized as Professor of the Game and to represent the National Scholars Program, Honors College, Department of Sociology and Anthropology, and College of Behavioral, Social, and Health Sciences at Saturday’s game,” said Winslow. “Many thanks to President Clements, Provost Jones, and all involved for such a wonderful experience.”

Winslow also credited her students, who she said motivated her each day.

The Professor of the Game designation wasn’t the only achievement Winslow had to celebrate. “I had twins two weeks ago and needed to get back to the hospital to be with them,” she said.

While Jeff Brown’s week didn’t include the birth of twins, he was also pretty excited to be recognized.Pic of Jeff Brown

“I was thrilled and honored to receive the recognition of Star Staffer of the Game,” said Brown, a student services manager with New Student and Family Programs. “It was an incredible experience being able to watch the game from the President’s Suite and represent the Division of Student Affairs on the field alongside Dr. Winslow.”

The practice of honoring faculty and staff during Clemson football home games began last season. Those recognized sit with Jim Clements in the president’s box during the game and are honored in a ceremony during the event.
