An armchair that belonged to George Washington. A sideboard from the U.S.S. Constitution. A throne-like chair that belonged to the king of Belgium. These historical treasures and more await visitors at Fort Hill.
Fort Hill, which the Clemson and Calhoun families once called home, will open its doors for faculty and staff tours from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20.
Visitors can watch history come alive with one-of-a-kind artifacts, locally made items and chats with Thomas Green Clemson and his wife, Anna – portrayed by Ron Grant and Janet Bean.
To add to the experience, cookies – made with recipes that date back to the 1800s – will be served along with tea and lemonade.
