McMillan Road to be closed for construction

McMillan Road and Epsilon Zeta Drive will be closed while University Facilities replaces deteriorated asphalt pavement. The two areas will be broken into two phases.

Phase I: Effective May 10 thru May 19, McMillan Road between Cherry Road and Epsilon Zeta Drive will be completely closed to vehicles and pedestrians. Detour signs will be posted to direct traffic thru Bryan Circle for access to Cooper Library and other east campus building locations. Temporary ADA parking spaces will be located behind the Hendrix Student Center, accessible through the Hendrix/Schilletter loading dock area, with access to the building via the covered walkway leading to the second floor of Hendrix. If additional assistance is need to access the Hendrix Student Center, please contact Parking and Transportation Services at 864-710-1051. These spaces will be removed once the spaces at the entrance to Hendrix are reopened.

During this construction phase, all transit services (CAT’s Anderson, Seneca, Pendleton and Red routes and Greenlink’s Tiger Commute route) will be utilizing the bus stops at Cherry Road and Bryan Circle. Please be patient and expect delays going through this area due to the increase in traffic. Phase I will be opened prior to beginning Phase II.

Phase II: Effective May 20 thru May 25, Epsilon Zeta Drive will be completely closed to vehicle and pedestrian access. Access to Edwards Hall parking lot, Schilletter loading docks and Hendrix loading docks will not be accessible. Temporary ADA and medical permit parking spaces will be located adjacent to Edwards Hall. Please follow the detour signs to access these spaces. These parking spaces will be removed once the Edwards Hall parking lot is reopened.

Special deliveries will be permitted. 72 hour notice of deliveries is highly recommended in order to coordinate with paving contractor.

Starting and completion dates could be impacted by weather conditions. Any changes will be announced through Inside Clemson and posted on the Parking and Transportation Services website.

Contact Greg Gibbs or Parking and Transportation Services if you have any questions or concerns.
