John C. Richardson, retiree – April 14, 2016

John C. Richardson, 80, of Clemson, died April 14, 2016. Dr. Richardson served two years active duty in the U.S. Army and another 18 years in the U.S. Army Reserves before he became a professor of Foundations and Special Education at Clemson University. Richardson was awarded the Order of the Palmetto, the highest civilian honor awarded by the state of South Carolina for his work in rural schools and work with children with special needs.   He retired in 1996 with 18 years of service.

Richardson is survived by his wife, two daughters, son, grandchildren, friends and family.

A memorial service was held April 24 at Clemson United Methodist Church.
