Taze Leonard Senn, retiree – Jan. 12, 2016

Taze Leonard Senn, 98, of Clemson died Jan. 12, 2016. Dr. Senn was a department chair and professor of horticulture. He retired in 1981 with 39 years of service to Clemson. His esteemed career was recognized by the multitude of awards he won, including the Danforth Teaching Fellowship, the only South Carolinian in Agriculture to ever receive this accolade, as well as the Thomas Green Clemson Medallion. Senn founded the South Carolina Botanical Gardens, of which the 44 acres are dedicated in his honor.

He is survived by his wife, son, stepdaughter, grandchildren, friends and family.

A funeral service was held Jan. 16, 2016 at Clemson United Methodist Church.
