Clemson Creative Inquiry Team Wins Award

The Creative Inquiry team led by Dr. Rodrigo Martinez-Duarte received and third place and an honorable mention at the Student Poster Session of the Spring Meeting of the Electro Chemical Society in New Orleans Louisiana.

70 student posters (mostly by graduate students) were judged. We presented three posters total, all from the same Creative Inquiry project (#791). Josie Duncan (Junior ME) and Mary Grace Heustess (Junior Health Sciences) got third place with the poster “Dielectrophoresis for Concentrating Trypanosoma brucei”. Monsur Islam, my grad student was also a co-author. Emily Gullette (BioE), Natalie Hanson (BioE), Meredith Hammer (Microbiology) and Emily Kluttz (IE) got honorable mention for the poster “Manipulation of Candida glabrata with electric field gradients using optoelectronic tweezers”. Other authors of this poster include Callie Stuart (BioE), Kayla Wallace (Microbiology) and Devin Keck (graduate student ME).
