We wish to Congratulate the winners and all the presenters in the Conference for the commendable work.

The process of selection of Winners was done in three stages. At the first stage an open call for submission of abstracts for the posters was posted to all the Graduate Students of Mechanical Engineering and students could submit an entry either as team or individually. This was done to encourage participation from each research lab / teams in the department.

At the second stage, the participating students displayed their posters at the Atrium on the 8th of October 2014 and these posters were evaluated based on the Creativity, Clarity, Insight and Organization by a panel of jury. We wish to thank Dr. Hongseok Choi, Dr. Ethan Kung, Dr. Michael Porter and Dr. Marija Vukicevic again for taking time off their schedule and evaluating all the posters. The presenters of the top 5 posters were asked to prepare an elevator pitch of their research to be presented to the Industry Advisory Board of the department.

At the third stage, each winner of the poster session made a 3 minute presentation to a panel of jury consisting of the members from the Industry Advisory Board, and the department chair. The presentations were evaluated based on the Clarity, Insight, and Impact of the research and the three presentations were chosen at the end as winners. Congratulations to all the participants of the Conference for taking time off the busy schedule during the semester and working so hard to make this a big success.

The conference wouldn’t have been possible without the tireless effort by all the members of the core committee of MEGSC, members of the staff Ms Gwen Dockins, Mr. Corbin Kolehmainen, Ms. Teri Garrett and the constant support of Dr. Joshua Summers and Dr. Melur Ramasubramaniam. Finally we wish to thank all the participants (students and faculty members) of the conference for a successful event.
