Dr. Laura Olson wins Centennial Professorship Award

We learned just this week that Dr. Laura Olson has won the Clemson University Centennial Professorship Award!  The award was presented to Professor Olson during the Spring semester full faculty meeting on Thursday, May 9.  It is awarded every two years by the Clemson faculty to one of its outstanding faculty.  Dr. Olson is certainly deserving of the award and we are so very happy for the recognition of her achievements in scholarship, teaching, and mentoring.

Today’s news release reads: “The Centennial Professorship was awarded to Laura Olson, professor of political science. Olson’s area of expertise is religion in politics, and she has often been quoted in national and international news media. She is a prolific scholar, having published 12 journal articles, two books and seven book chapters in the last five years. Olson is editor-in-chief of the Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, serves on the editorial boards of four other journals, and is an active member of boards and committees associated with her professional societies.”
