This past Saturday marked the first time the ML3 class was able to put their knowledge of platoon-level operations to the test. The ML3s began the day with two STX lanes followed by a short refit. They then immediately moved into patrol operations. Platoon-level operations like the ambush the ML3 class conducted typically last five hours. Leadership at all levels is evaluated to allow for improvement. Roughly midway through the operation(following the establishment of the objective rally point), leadership is rotated to allow for more Cadets to experience the stresses of leading. Following the completion of their mission and a subsequent AAR(after-action report), the ML3s completed another round of night land navigation to continue honing their skills.
