Meet Fred Turner, a World War II veteran who served his country faithfully during the 1940s. Cadets from both Army and Air Force ROTC programs worked with members of the Purple Heart Homes, who are veterans themselves, to fix up Mr. Turner’s home. These cadets worked at scraping old paint and repainting windows and awnings, as well as clearing out brush and debris in Mr. Turner’s back yard. These cadets were able to talk with and learn from veterans of multiple generations. The Fighting Tiger Battalion will be partnering with the Purple Heart Homes on other projects throughout the rest of the fall semester.
