Last Thursday, the Clemson University Army ROTC conducted land navigation training at Crew Hill. Despite a few minor issues, the training was an overall success. One of the starting points on the navigation course was a little off, but this allowed the ML3s and ML4s to practice their critical thinking abilities. To resolve this issue quickly, the groups simply moved to one of the known points and started their navigation from there. The ML1s and ML2s did an excellent job taking what they learned in class and from the training lessons and applying it to the Crew Hill land navigation course. The biggest lessons they learned is that learning navigation and actually applying it are two very different things and that practice is necessary to hone their skills.
