It acts like quicksand, and within 22 seconds you can become completely submerged in the grain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Before entering:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Lockout\/tagout all loading and unloading equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Test the atmosphere in the bin.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Ensure that you have the proper respiratory protection when necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Use a harness and lifeline. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Never enter alone; bring at least two other people with you. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Manure Pit Safety<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Manure can produce gases that are extremely dangerous, including hydrogen sulfide.
