Student spotlight series: Terra Haines

The next student in our Spotlight Series is Terra Haines!

Terra is a Master of Wildlife and Fisheries Resources Graduate Student who was recently recognized as the Pennsylvania Amphibian and Reptile Survey (PARS) Ambassador of the Year at the Annual PARS Meeting.

PARS is a citizen science initiative that gathers statewide observations of amphibians and reptiles to track species distributions, monitor populations, and support conservation efforts. This program is a joint collaboration between the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) and the Mid-Atlantic Center for Herpetology and Conservation.

Terra is also permitted to own a native Timber Rattlesnake for educational purposes. Her snake is a yellow-phase male timber rattlesnake (Crotalus horridus), and she owes it all to her snake and the PFBC for allowing her to have him to do what she loves.

Congratulations, Terra, on this outstanding achievement and your continued dedication to wildlife education and conservation!
