The Department of Chemistry at Claflin University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant professor position in Chemistry to teach undergraduate chemistry classes. The chemistry department at Claflin University offers an ACS accredited program and is equipped with state of the art analytical instruments. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching general chemistry classes and advanced classes in Inorganic/Organic/Polymer chemistry.  The successful applicant will be expected to attract funding from external agencies, maintain an undergraduate research program in chemistry, serve on departmental and faculty committee, advise undergraduate students, and perform other related academic duties.


This position requires a Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field and teaching/research experience appropriate for appointment at the rank of assistant professor. The successful candidate must have an established record of teaching, research, grantsmanship, and peer reviewed publications appropriate for the appointment at the rank of assistant professor in chemistry.
