Join our Academic Bowl teams!
Are you looking for opportunities outside the classroom? Would you like to travel to different states for free? Would you like to test your knowledge of agricultural economics against students from different schools and make new friends? Would you like to meet faculty members from other schools and industry leaders? If you answer yes to two (or all!) of these questions, then we have a great suggestion: Join our Academic Bowl teams!
The Academic Bowl events are sponsored by the AAEA and SAEA and take place February and July/August annually at different states. The competition closely resembles jeopardy. Two teams of three members compete in the following 8 categories: Microeconomics, Macroeconomcis, Agribusiness/Finance, Quantitative Analysis, Agricultural Policy, Marketing, Management, and PotPouri. The team that has the most points at the end of 30 minute rounds wins.
To be able to participate in the events, you should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, have a number of Agribusiness courses and be an active member of the club. For more information please contact Dr. Michael Vassalos.
