I grew up on a farm in Lowrys, SC and hope to return there in the future to run a small business and work with my family on the farm. I am excited to serve as President of the Agribusiness Association this year and hope to continue supporting the growth of the club through meetings, social events, and career opportunities.

I was born in Greenville, SC but I lived in Orlando, FL for 7 years before moving back to SC and ultimately ending up in Beaufort where my family lives now. I am a Sophomore Agribusiness major with a Financial Management minor and I hope to become a loan officer after graduation. I plan to develop a career that bridges finance and agriculture in all that I do.

Hey y’all! My name is Carter Jay and I am from Greenville, South Carolina. I am a senior majoring in Agribusiness and minoring in Finance. I am secretary of the Agribusiness Club and Vice President of the AAEA Student Board. In my free time I enjoy being on the lake, at the farm, or attending Clemson football games with friends and family.

I have been a member of the Agribusiness Association since my freshman year, and my favorite part about being in the club is the trip we have taken to Denver Downs each fall. As event chair, I look forward to planning more farm visits and fun social events for the club. I am still deciding what I want to do in the future, but I have a strong interest in local agriculture.

Dr. Vassalos is an Associate Professor in the Agricultural Sciences department at Clemson. Dr. Vassalos earned his PhD in agricultural economics from University of Kentucky in 2013. His research interests include Farm/Agribusiness management and production economics. Dr. Vassalos has been the advisor of the Agribusiness Association since his arrival at Clemson University in August, 2013.
