Wells Fargo executives joined Clemson and College of Business leadership on Tuesday, October 18 for the second annual Wells Fargo Scholars Luncheon, which celebrates Wells Fargo’s support of the Wells Fargo Scholarship Program, the Wells Fargo Professorship of Banking, and the Wells Fargo Faculty Scholar Program.
The Wells Fargo Scholars Program was established in 1998 and provides scholarships to rising juniors and seniors who are majoring in Financial Management. Students must have a 3.0 GPA, exhibit leadership skills, communication skills, and initiative in university organizations and clubs. The first scholarships from the endowment payment were awarded in 2007, and 88 scholarships have been awarded since. Eleven students received scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year.
The Wells Fargo Professorship of Banking was established in 1994. It provides support for an endowed professorship in Financial Management. The professorship is currently held by Dr. Lucy Chernykh, Assistant Professor of Finance.
The Wells Fargo Faculty Scholar program was established in 1992 to encourage excellence in teaching and research in Financial Management. The Currently held by Dr. Brandon Lockhart, Assistant Professor of Finance, who is in attendance today.
