Usability Night Thursday November 3

For the past few years, CUHFES has hosted a “Usability Night” where chapter members meet to tackle a small-scale usability project or activity as a team. This year, we’ve scheduled Usability Night for Thursday, 11/3, at 5:00pm-7:00pm in Brackett Hall, room 419. Stop by to get free pizza and hands-on experience user testing our BodyTherapyInc.com redesign!

We’d like to benchmark the existing BodyTherapy site as well as user test the new prototype’s organization, content, and aesthetic. If you don’t have experience with usability testing, don’t worry! We’ll guide you toward another notch for your CV (i.e., ‘conducted user testing for BodyTherapy Inc. website redesign’). We could use folks to run the testing, to participate, or to do both!

During this event, you can get together with your group for each of the Chegg projects. If you’ve signed up for any of these projects, mark your calendars!

Alumni Tailgate this Saturday! (10/15)

Hey Tigers, are you ready for some football?!?
The CUHFES tailgate is coming up this Saturday, and we are excited to share the details. We will be meeting up on the patio between Brackett and Hardin Hall at 8:00 am! (See the map below, click the image to expand it)

Tailgate location

An early game calls for an early tailgate, so we will be providing breakfast biscuits and coffee! Feel free to bring anything else you’d like to eat or drink.

Please RSVP for the tailgate (https://goo.gl/forms/wzg9b5tmfB6KeWV63), so that we can know how much food and drinks to provide!
Bring a chair and your Clemson spirit as we prepare to watch the Tigers take on the Wolfpack for Homecoming weekend!

See you all on Saturday, and Go Tigers!

October Chapter Meeting (Wednesday October 12)

We will have our next student chapter meeting on Wednesday, October 12 from 5pm-6pm in Brackett 214. Pizza and drinks will be provided!
During the meeting, we will discuss upcoming HFES events and usability projects. You will have the opportunity to learn about each of the projects and sign up for them based on your interests.
Please make sure to attend if you already paid your dues! We will have gifts available for pick up at the meeting. If you haven’t paid dues, you can pay online or at the upcoming meeting.
See you there!

USEV collaboration and Tiger Prowl

This summer, student members of Clemson’s HFES chapter collaborated with US Engine Valve (USEV). Together, we produced a thorough ergonomics assessment of their plant in Westminster, SC. Our CUHFES team members presented their findings to USEV yesterday, and it went great! We want to thank Clay Murphy and his team at USEV for the amazing opportunity they have provided us. We had a great time and we hope to continue working together soon!

On August 16, CUHFES officers Dan Quinn, Scott Betza, Will Leidheiser, and Drea Fekety represented our chapter at Clemson’s Tiger Prowl event. Tiger Prowl is an annual event for new students to learn about campus organizations, and it was an excellent opportunity for us to showcase CUHFES’s work and recruit new members. We’re looking forward to next year’s event!
