Professor Emeritus Robert Fjeld was inducted into the Thomas Green Clemson Academy of Engineers and Scientists at a ceremony sponsored by the College of Engineering, Computing, and Applied Sciences (CECAS) on May 6, 2022.  Induction to the academy is the highest honor bestowed by CECAS. The honor recognizes alumni and special friends who have made major contributions to their professions and have brought significant distinction to the college and university.  Dr. Fjeld began his career at Clemson University in 1980 and served on the faculty until 2009.  He is credited with establishing the nuclear environmental engineering and science program within EEES, which now has four faculty members (Tim DeVol, Brian Powell, Nicole Martinez, and Lindsay Shuller-Nickles).  The nuclear environmental engineering and science program is one of very few nationally that focuses on the environmental fate and transport of radioactive materials in the environment.  Congratulations to Dr. Fjeld.
