On April 3, 2025, the Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences in the School of CEEES at Clemson University hosted the 33rd Annual David S. Snipes/Clemson Hydrogeology Symposium. In attendance were over 469 attendees. The annual conference is the largest gathering of professionals focused on hydrogeology in the Southeast U.S. This event was a success through the participation of Exhibitors, Sponsors, Presenters, Speakers including faculty, staff and students at Clemson University. This year’s keynote address was delivered by Dr. Sally Benson from the Department of Energy Sciences and Engineering, Stanford University who presented on “Advances in Geological Storage of Carbon Dioxide in Deep Geological Formations”. Field Trips to Brevard, N.C. home of the Brevard Fault Zone were led by Symposium Organizer, Scott Brame. The transition across the BFZ proceeded to the Pisgah Mountains to examine landslides, the Looking Glass pluton, Pink Beds and other intrusions. The summit of Black Balsam Mountain off the Blue Ridge Parkway was visited to view the highly deformed beds of the Ashe Metamorphic Suite.
