Celebration of Life for Dr. Tom Keinath

On May 18, 2024, more than 125 family and friends gathered at the Madren Center in Clemson to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Tom Keinath, who passed away on March 15, 2024. The service was officiated by Chris Heavner, a former pastor in Clemson and long-time friend of the Keinath family. Speakers included friends, colleagues, and former students. Dr. Keinath’s wife of 60 years, Ms. Karen Keinath, and his son, Michael Keinath, also addressed the crowd of well-wishers. You may view the program and a recording of the service. Select photos from the service are also available.

Remembering Tom Keinath

A Distinguished Legacy

Thanks to the generous donations of Tom’s friends and family, an endowment has been established to support the creation of the Dr. Thomas M. Keinath Distinguished Professorship in Environmental Engineering. This is yet another impactful way that those who have been touched by Dr. Keinath can show their support to further cement his legacy as a giant in the Environmental Engineering field and to celebrate his numerous contributions over a 50+ year career at Clemson University. If you would like to support this endeavor, please make a donation, or contact Doug Gray (Sr. Director of Development) at dgray2@clemson.edu if you want to give appreciated stock or make a five-year commitment to the fund. Our heartfelt wishes go out to the entire Keinath family.
