Congratulations to five-(5) amazing EEES students Lexi Mikowicz, Laura DiGiacomo, EIT, Joshua Banks and Michael Knapp, PE on being a 2024 recipient of the SCAWWA WEASC Blue Ridge Foothills District Scholarship (BRFD). Laura Digiacomo, a Ph.D. student in Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences on being a 2025 recipient of the Blue Ridge Foothills District Scholarship (BRFD). Laura’s research topic generally focus on photochemical destruction of PFAS in complex water matrices. The scholarship is an integral part of the BRFD’s mission to provide, support and encourage environmental education and development. Awarded applicants must be pursuing a degree in any Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field. Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering or other suitable major related to the water or environmental discipline or recipient shall be a Graduate student pursuing a master’s degree or higher in environmental science, engineering or other suitable major related to the water environment.
