Results from the last internal communications survey indicate that awareness and use of Clemson’s faculty and staff web page could use a little help.
“There’s a faculty and staff Web page that has all this?” wrote one respondent.
“Was unaware of a faculty/staff Web page,” wrote another.
And yet another wrote, “Honestly, I didn’t even know about the faculty and staff webpage until taking this survey.”
So yes, there is, in fact, a faculty and staff Web page. And now it looks even better, thanks to our friends in Creative Services and feedback from you.
It’s all about you
Located here, Clemson’s faculty and staff Web page provides real-time news about Clemson and a wealth of other resources that are helpful to faculty and staff.
The In the Headlines section features university press releases that are about, affect, or may be of interest to faculty and staff.
Under the Inside Clemson tab, faculty and staff-specific news items are listed. The weekly Inside Clemson e-newsletter pulls directly from this area, so much of what you see in the weekly enewsletter is accessible from this page. The area is updated regularly, so if a news item comes in after the Wednesday Inside Clemson e-newsletter is distributed, you don’t have to wait a week to read about that item.
A university calendar feed is also included on the page. Events listed in this area have been tagged for faculty and staff, so events that you see on this page are specifically geared toward you. Also pulled from the university calendar are listings of campus disruptions from construction, planned campus outages and scheduled shutdowns. You can find that information under the Facilities tab.
Got social media? We do. The page contains a feed to the @InsideClemson twitter account, so news and information that appears on that account, also appears real-time on the faculty and staff Web page. The redesigned page also contains feeds from President Jim Clements’ and Parking and Transportation Services’ Twitter accounts.
If you use portals like Blackboard, XMAIL, IROAR and FAS, you’re in luck. Those links and more can be accessed from the faculty and staff Web page.
Finally, the Resources section contains helpful links to a variety of areas. Quickly access this area by clicking on the more resources link on the upper right-hand side of the page, or just scroll to the bottom of the page. From human resources to professional development to university holidays, you can link to an amazing amount of information from one area.
The redesigned Web page offers much more – and it’s all in one place. So take some time to navigate the page and bookmark it. Better yet, make it your homepage and be in the know about university happenings that affect you.
