Chemical inventories for labs and non-labs are due

It’s that time again. Submit your chemical inventories for labs and non-labs. Unless you are notified stating otherwise from Environmental Safety, the submittals are due no later that Feb. 15.

Access the forms for submittal on the Environmental Safety web page.

-Laboratories should complete the “Chemical Inventory worksheet” form.
-Non-Laboratories are to complete the “Non-Laboratory Chemical Inventory worksheet” form.

Send your submittals as soon as you have them complete so that there is ample time to contact you if additional information is necessary/required before the deadline.

How to submit:
Please email completed inventories to: cheminventory@clemson.edu
In the “Subject” line of the email, include the last name of the responsible party (Lab PI or supervisor) and the associated department.

Things to note:
-Be sure to include the container size along with the quantity (# of containers). For example: 2X 12 ounces, 4 x 1 gallon, or 3 x 500 ml OR a total weight/volume

-If an inventory is submitted without the information requested, such as quantity/container size or the CAS #’s, it will be returned with an explanation of why it is considered incomplete. It would then have to be corrected and resubmitted before the deadline. Remember that the CAS #’s are listed on the SDS/MSDS for the products.

-It is perfectly acceptable if the quantity of a product is listed as zero (0). This is applicable if the product is not stocked in your inventory at this time, but that you know that you will use the product in the future.

-Any item in your inventory that is 10,000 pounds or more must be included in the submittal.
