Chief human resources officer to assume new position in Pennsylvania

michelle-piekutowski2_400x225-min.jpgAssociate Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Michelle Piekutowski will leave her position at Clemson to become the associate vice president and chief human resources officer at Carnegie Mellon University, effective Aug. 28.

Piekutowski has provided overall leadership, direction and planning of Clemson University’s HR organization including HR service, recruitment, compensation, performance management, employee relations, benefits administration and compliance.

“Michelle is a great leader and will be missed by Clemson,” said Brett Dalton, Clemson’s executive vice president for finance and operations. “She and her team are tireless advocates for Clemson and have made tremendous strides as the university places a greater emphasis on recruiting, retaining, rewarding and developing top talent. Michelle’s greatest strengths are that she is passionate about excellence and that she truly cares for each person who is a part of this great university. It has been an honor and a pleasure to work alongside Michelle and her team over the years. We are very pleased that she is able to achieve her professional goals with this opportunity for service at Carnegie Mellon University.”

Piekutowski has worked in the university’s Office of Human Resources since 1998. She served as a trainer and in several director-level positions until 2008 when she was named associate chief human resources officer. In 2011, she served as acting chief human resources officer and was named permanent chief human resources officer in 2014.
