How supervisors can use stay interviews to increase engagement and retention

New training offered by the Office of Human Resources instructs supervisors how to conduct and leverage stay interviews. A stay interview is a one-on-one interview between a faculty or staff member and his or her supervisor. Stay interviews, one of several new or improved engagement and retention initiatives, help supervisors and employees build a dialogue around job satisfaction and areas where improvements may be needed.

During stay interview training, which starts May 15, 2019, supervisors will learn approaches for interviewing team members to learn what keeps employees at Clemson University and what may cause them to leave. Supervisors will also receive resources to help boost their teams’ engagement.

Interested supervisors should visit Tiger Training to register for a live-training stay interview course that will be offered twice a month.
