Associate professor of scene design honored with Suzi Bass Award

Shannon Robert was honored with a Suzi Bass Award from Atlanta’s professional theater community. Robert is an associate professor of scene design. She was recognized for her scenery in the Aurora/Theatrical Outfit co-production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Robert also has won a number of other awards for her scene designs. Clemson staff members were honored with ­awards from the South Carolina College Personnel Association (SCCPA) for outstanding contributions to student programming and development. Members from the Student Affairs team were honored, along with other staff members from various departments. Learn more about the award recipients here.

U.S. Agriculture Secretary visits Clemson

During his visit to Clemson, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue cited the vital role of land-grant universities in sustaining the momentum of America’s agricultural future. Purdue with President Jim Clements and participated in a luncheon where he answered questions from students, farmers, agency heads and other key members in the South Carolina agribusiness industry. He urged Clemson agriculture students to set their sights on agricultural communications and the importance of “telling the story of agriculture.”

When Tigers help babies

The sixth annual Tigers for Babies 5K Sunday will raise money for the March of Dimes, which focuses on preventing premature birth through its Prematurity Research Centers.

Students, staff, community members and other Clemson organizations will come together to raise funds for this cause.

The day will kick off with the Tigers for babies 5K run at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 18. The run will begin and end at The Esso Club. Learn more here.
