Facilities reports that it has scheduled a campus-wide steam outage beginning 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6. The outage will end 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7.
All systems utilizing steam will experience a loss of steam. These systems include building heating systems; hot water; autoclaves/sterilizers; dishwashers; and any equipment, process or research activities that use central campus steam.
Officials report that the scheduled outage is necessary to perform a main control valve change-out at the Central Energy Facility (CEF), loop tuning on boiler control systems at the CEF as well as to address distribution system maintenance issues.
