The Watt Family Innovation Center is sponsoring an ongoing series of drop-in sessions for faculty, staff and students, aimed at helping individuals learn how to use SAS analytics software.

These drop-in sessions, facilitated by Research Associate and Professor David White, are designed to help researchers, faculty and students with general questions about utilizing the SAS Cloud environment hosted at the Watt Center. Technical support and access to SAS Cloud resources are also available. However, these sessions are not focused on providing statistical advice about research samples or data sets.

Individuals or research teams can visit the Watt Center from 12:30 to 2 p.m. each Thursday or 9 to 10 a.m. each Friday. All sessions are held in room 307 of the Watt Center. The sessions began in March and will run through the summer. New SAS trainings and help sessions will be added for the fall.

The Watt Center’s partnership with SAS began in spring 2017, when the center recognized SAS as its sixth Founding Innovation Partner. Through their support, SAS provides access to advanced SAS Analytics, business intelligence, cybersecurity and data management software, as well as teaching materials and on-site training.

The SAS Cloud environment at the Watt Center is composed of three main modules: SAS Visual Analytics, SAS Enterprise Miner and SAS Visual Studio. In addition to in-person training, users can access several free e-learning modules.

Those interested in the training can also contact White for meetings outside of drop-in sessions by emailing him at whitedl@clemson.edu.
