Clemson University mourns the death of Dennis Bausman, an endowed faculty chair in Construction Science and Management (CSM). Bausman died November 28, 2022. He had taught at Clemson for more than 26 years.
The memorial service will be in Bausman’s hometown of Ackley, Iowa, on Tuesday, December 6, from 1-3 p.m. at Sietsema Funeral Home, 501 10th Ave., Ackley, Iowa 50601.
“Dennis was a legend in the CSM Program at Clemson. He was recognized for his positive influence on more than two decades of CSM graduates as the inaugural endowed faculty chair. He also generously served as faculty advisor for numerous student organizations, including the annual Habitat for Humanity Homecoming Build on Bowman Field,” said Nieri Department of Construction, Development and Planning Chair Mike Jackson. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, students, faculty and staff as they grieve during this extremely difficult time.”
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is providing grief counseling to students. Any student who wants to speak to a counselor should contact CAPS at 864-656-2451. An after-hours CAPS counselor can be reached by calling 864-656-2451 and selecting option 2 to speak to a counselor.
Counseling services are also available to faculty and staff through Deer Oaks, the University’s Employee Assistance Program provider, at 866-327-2400.
