Jack E. Jones, professor emeritus of poultry science – April 21, 2020

Jack E. Jones, 90, of Anderson, professor emeritus of poultry science, died April 21, 2020. Jones came to Clemson University in 1968 and served as the only pre-veterinary adviser in South Carolina.

Jones was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a graduate of the University of Florida, where he received his undergraduate degree, master’s and Ph.D.  He was an avid flower and shrub gardener and volunteered at the South Carolina Botanical Garden.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Catherine Colee Jones; children, Melania “Lani” Anderson (Kyle), David J. Jones (Alina Castaneda) and Adam T. Jones (Shawna); grandchildren, Ian and Dylan Anderson and Blake Jones.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
