John Patrick “Pat” Crowther, retired engineer/associate engineer for University Facilities, passed away on September 27, 2025.
Crowther began his Clemson career on July 22, 1977, and retired on December 31, 1997, totaling 21 years of permanent service. He returned to work in temporary positions until August 2024.
Crowther managed a multitude of construction projects, including the South Upper Deck Expansion of Memorial Stadium, both indoor and outdoor track and field facilities, academic facilities, and student housing complexes. He considered his involvement with the construction of the Scroll of Honor adjacent to Memorial Stadium, including his interaction with members of the Clemson Corps, as one of his most rewarding and memorable projects.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church on October 6, 2025 at 2 p.m., followed by a reception.
