Mervin Forrest White, 86, professor emeritus of Sociology, died April 11, 2021. He worked at Clemson 20 years, from 1979 to 2000.
White earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from from BYU and a Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky, He taught sociology at Washington State University before coming to Clemson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Bishop White, and his sisters, Irene Stewart and Stella Gillion.
White is survived by his daughter, Kristen (Matthew) Walters, and his sisters, Lucille (Arvile) Kelley, Doris Arensmeyer and Wilonese (Terry) Lowe; and five grandchildren.
