Richard Dubsky, Professor Emeritus of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences

Richard S. Dubsky, Senior Lecturer Emeritus, died on May 15, 2023, at the age of 70 at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, S.C.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Salisbury University, a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Tennessee and his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Duquesne University.

Prior to teaching at Clemson University, Dr. Dubsky taught mathematics and statistics at Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland. He was hired at Clemson University in 2001 and taught statistics courses in the Management Department and the Department of Experimental Statistics. He later became a full-time faculty member in the Department of Experimental Statistics and the Department of Applied Economics and Statistics.

Dr. Dubsky retired from the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences in December 2014. He taught a variety of undergraduate applied statistics courses and served as course and lab coordinator for Introductory Statistical Methods. He was appreciated for his keen intellect, his humble nature, and his devotion to his students and their success.
