Robert F. Nowack, retired Alumni Distinguished Professor – Feb. 4, 2020

Robert F. Nowack, 96, died Feb. 4. He was an Alumni Distinguished Professor and taught civil engineering at Clemson for 62 years. He retired in 2008.

Nowack was awarded an honorary doctorate from Clemson in 1999.

In the early years, he hosted students in his home to teach them social skills, dinner etiquette for job interviews and even provided temporary housing for some students.

At his request there will not be a memorial service or visitation. If you would like to send condolences, please mail them to P.O. Box 866, Clemson, SC 29631.
