Dr. Melur K. “Ram” Ramasubramanian, D. W. Reynolds Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering and department chair, has been appointed the University of Virginia’s vice president for research. He will continue his IPA appointment with the National Science Foundation until August 8, when he assumes his new position with UVA.

Clemson University researchers are looking to use autonomous driving, swarm, and other technologies to reduce the amount of time drivers spend waiting at red lights.
