MSE congratulates Dr. Cheng Sun for being awarded the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers. This is the highest U.S. government honor. Dr. Yanying Lu joined MSE on January 1, 2025, as a Joint Appointment (AuE) Assistant Professor. Before coming to Clemson, she was a staff scientist at Sylvatex Inc. Her specialty areas are ceramic engineering, composite materials, and battery material manufacturing.

Dr. Luiz Jacobsohn has been named Associate Editor of Optical Materials and its gold open-access mirror journal Optical Materials :X. This adds to his existing role as Associate Editor of Optica’s journal Optics Express.
