The Advanced Materials Innovation Complex (AMIC) building https://cecas.clemson.edu/amic/#facility is on track to begin construction in the Summer 2023. AMIC will host an advanced characterization and imaging facility that is planned to crosscut the energy, health and manufacturing themes prioritized by the University and be a resource to the broader materials community at Clemson. This AMIC facility is expected to add new dimension to the existing instrumentation capabilities at Clemson offering nanoscale/atomic scale imaging of low- and high-density materials simultaneously and provide characterization of materials at in situ environmental conditions. AMIC is aimed to fill a critical gap in current X-ray imaging and atomic scale characterization of materials in the Southeast region. This Workshop is aimed at revealing the best practices for running successful facilities of a similar kind by bringing the leading experts/practitioners and the leading companies to showcase their products and technologies and catalyze interdisciplinary collaborations to advance the scope and impact of the future proposals.
