Edisto REC hosted the chainsaw safety training for their employees on June 15th, 2023. Clemson’s Department of Forestry and Environmental Conservation performed the training. The instructor, Dr. Patrick Hiesl, covered the safety aspects of the chainsaw and how to cut. Numerous cuts were demonstrated, and the participants had the opportunity to practice their knowledge.
Janet Steele, Area Forestry Agent was also onsite to assist the participants. This training was beneficial for the safety of chainsaw use at Edisto REC. The instruction is available to all Clemson personnel that use chainsaws and would like to learn more efficient and safer was to get the job done.
