On July 30th, Digital Learning Strategist James Butler led a Workshop Wednesday session titled Best Practices for Online Group Work. The session focused on how to best design group projects, peer reviews, and small group discussions to increase engagement in online a/synchronous classrooms.

Butler began by explaining how group work design and execution impacts student’s engagement in class. The session then explored why group work is necessary to include in the classroom. Butler wrapped up the presentation via an extended discussion on best group work practices.

Whether you’re looking for ways to refresh your course’s group work assignments or you’re simply interested in strengthening your teaching skillset, this session provides valuable information on ways to increase student engagement and satisfaction in digital environments.
