Updated Information on Deployment of New IRB InfoEd eForms and Access to the Submission Portal

The links to create a new IRB submission (e.g., Initial Application, Amendment, Progress Report, etc.) were deactivated at 4:30pm on November 22, 2024. All IRB submissions created in InfoEd but not officially submitted to our office were permanently deleted on Monday, November 25 to prevent compatibility issues with the new eforms.

The IRB Office will continue to review and approve submitted applications during the deployment process.

The IRB submissions portal will be re-activated 8am on December 9 for new submissions.

Demonstration sessions will be scheduled in December to introduce the campus community to the new forms.

Be sure to visit the IRB webpage for updated information.

New resources available for IACUC protocols

We have two exciting new resources that can help you access what you need for your IACUC AUPs.

  1.  Your approved documents can now all be found in one place—the document library. To see your documents, open the AUP by using the Master Record option. In the black bar across the top, select “Approved Docs.” The approved versions of your documents should be listed.
  2. If you want to reference an existing SOP from a facility to describe your procedures, you can list or link the SOP from the Office of Animal Resources (nearly all facility SOPs are now available). To access, go to the OAR site, and under the University/Attending Veterinarian, select the “Standard Operating Procedures.” Access requires a Clemson login.

Our Busy Summer

This spring ORC engaged external consultants to review the IRB and IACUC office operations. Since then, we have been busy implementing their recommendations. In the fall, we look forward to unveiling updated eForms in InfoEd, new positions, new staff, updated guidance and “how to’s” and a new communications strategy. If you would like an update on our progress at a staff or department meeting, please contact us at orc@clemson.edu. Stay tuned!
