A time for thanks

November 21, 2017

Dear Clemson family,

It has been another busy, but productive, fall semester and I am looking forward to spending the Thanksgiving holiday in the company of family and friends.

This is one of my favorite times of the year, because it provides an opportunity for people to come together, regardless of the circumstances or the challenges they face, and collectively give thanks for what we have — especially one another.

As a member of the Clemson Family, I have many things for which to be thankful.

I am thankful for our talented students who work hard every day to gain the knowledge and skills they will need to make our world a better place.

I am thankful for our outstanding faculty and staff who play a vital role in helping our students achieve their dreams.

I am thankful for our Clemson alumni and supporters whose generosity is instrumental to the university fulfilling its mission.

Let us take some time during the Thanksgiving break to recognize all that for which we are grateful. Likewise, I hope we all pause to reflect on our core values of honesty, integrity and respect. To members of the Clemson Family, these are not just words but bedrock principles that make this place so very special.

My very best wishes for a safe, relaxing and enjoyable Thanksgiving.

Go Tigers!
